More about Game People Live

We produce unusual videogame reviews by getting singers, song writers, playwrights and other artistic people to respond to the videogames they play in creative ways.

Our videogame review songs, radio-plays and stand up comedy is then performed in front of a live audience. The first performance of these shows was 11th April 2012 and was filmed at the BikeShed Theatre in Exeter, UK. These performances are filmed and published on the FGTVLive homepage.

The idea is that as well as having some fun we will also spark fresh perspectives on videogames, and provide a space in which newcomers and experts can enjoy discussing them. Some say that being so creative about a videogame is a waste of talent, but we think that this is just the sort of thing that needs to happen to better understand what videogames have to offer broader culture.

Here is a video explanation that we recorded before the first live performance...

Here are the games I've been playing recently:

With so many different perspectives it can be hard to know where to start - a little like walking into a crowded pub. Sorry about that.

But so far we've not found a way to streamline our review output - there's basically too much of it. So, rather than dilute things for newcomers we have decided to live with the hubbub while helping new readers find the columnists they will enjoy.

What sort of gamer are you?

Our columnists each focus on a particular perspective and fall into one of the following types of gamers:
